Ask yourself an important question.... is this drivetrain? or is this suspension?

The steering column shaft on the LS1 rack sits a little further toward the fender and a little further back, to clear the #1 exhaust tube.

The steering coupler length is the same.

If you want the fast ratio, you can put an LT1 rack in it. The y87 fast ratio rack is the same part number as an LT1 rack.

The LS1 would probably fit too. If it fits with a v8 in there, seems like it would fit with a v6 in there...

I had to take out my fast ratio v6 rack, and replace it with an LS1 rack, when I did my LS1 swap.

I have an LS1 steering rack in my V6. I had a couple issues with it, but no one really had an answer so I had to research it myself and fix it. Turns out...

It is actually the steering linkage that causes it to be a bit confusing. The 93-99 V6 linkage is the same as a LT1 linkage, and a 00-02 V6 linkage is the same as LS1 linkage. So either get a LT1 rack and use your stock linkage and it will bolt up fine, or get an LS1 rack with LS1 linkage and it will bolt up.
