  • Centerforce or spec?

I am looking for the closest to stock feel of a clutch. I do not want a spec stage 3 so please don't reccomend it. Because I have already been told its very "all or none" which is what I do not want in a clutch. And I do not intend to make the power a Spec III will require me to.

I am staying n/a and quite possibly internally stock N/A so most likely less then 250 hp and 300 ft lbs. of torque.

I am between Spec I and a CF dual friction, or even possibly another stocker.

    Also any aftermarket slave cylinders?

I've got the centerforce dual friction and I love it. I couldn't believe how close to a stock feel it is. It bites hard when you need it to though.

I'll vouch for the SPEC stage 1. almost 20k miles on it with countless hard launches/ shifts. The clutch feel is very stock like also. I dunno if its better than the centerforce or not, but I wasn't dissapointed.

I have a centerforce, but no opinions yet. Still waiting for the stock clutch to kick-the-bucket.

Stay away from cenetrforce. I find it hard to belive that anyone online ever buys a centerforce clutch. They are known to fall apart on you very easy.

I have heard some stuff about centerforce being bad as well, but also lots of good stuff to.... but spec isn't my favorite of companies either.

I last time I was bleeding the clutch, I noticed some things that I don't trust my slave, and like said, If I am down there I might as well do it all.

I have had both and my pick would be the SPEC Stage 3. That's what I am currently running. I don't dislike Centerforce however...it worked great for years.

                            Eric,
You probably know how a centerforce dual friction works, it has a puck style design (little pads) one the flywheel side and a stock type pad on the other. When my CF came apart, they said they could build a centerforce with the flywheel side on both sides, for free be cause they could find out why it broke. I accepted.
It has held up to a 100 shot with the cam on drag radials without a problem, and is almost exactly like stock for the street. No more grabbier than the regular dual friction for take offs. Really mild mannered on the street.
