i'd say 3.42s 3.73s will kill your milage and over 50 your acceleration wont be that good...

please research before you answer a question like this.

i have 3.73s and still get about 28 mpg highway. they also dropped about 5 tenths off of my best et.

Do you actually know anything about gears?

Anwyay, if you want a car that is primarily for street and is a daily driver I would say don't go higher 3.42's. If you want a car that is primarily for the drag strip go with 3.73's.

From personal experience the 3.42's did not take away any mileage for city or interstate driving. Your acceleration from 50 will be better than the 3.08's, I am not sure what teal99camaro is talking about.

I am absolutely pleased with my 3.42's and LSD. The LSD is great in the rain, can't wait to see how it improves my car in the snow.

mjparme i wasnt talking about 3.42s. over 50 3.42s accelerate faster the 3.73s I dont know what was wrong with that response..

Whats wrong is you. Lower gears isn't going to slow your acceleration. Punch those two cars with those gear in them going 50 mph and the 3.73 WILL pull the 3.42. Only difference will be the 3.42 will win eventually due to the 3.73 running out of gear slightly sooner.

Ahh, I see what you were saying. A period between 3.42s and 3.73s would have probably made your meaning a lot more clear.

Anyway, you are still wrong As ReodDai pointed out from 50 the 3.73's will still out accelerate the 3.42's.

Sorry but I have to agree w/ everyone else. 3.73 will pull hard and they will not hurt gas mileage.
