  • Tranny Swap Question

Alright, I searched and went through 15 pages of nothing. Will a transmission out of a 3.4L 95 fit into my 98? Has anyone actually tried this? What are the differences?

Could be wrong but I believe the bellhousings are different. Not 100% though...

Even though the 3.4L is a 60* engine and the 3.8L is a 90* engine, I believe they have the same bolt pattern. The only difference I can find at the moment is the belhousing is permanently attached to the 3.4 opposed to the 3.8. Which makes no difference. But someone who actually has some experience in this area would be great before I throw money around.

the slave cylinder of the 3.4 doesn't have a bleed line like the 3.8 does. I thinks thats about it not sure though.

the 7004-R/4L60E for the 6cyl 82~02 have interchangable bellhousing bolt patterns (except the 89 TT/A) if that's what you're asking

96-02 are all the same. The 95 tranny has a different part number.... Sorry I can't help you more than that.
