  • water in the diff?

I work for the local police department here and during the last hurricane i had to make an emergency relocate in the middle of it. i had to drive the bird cause the wife had the truck and well i drove thru about 6in of water for about 300ft, but i drove very very slow, so is there any possibility that i got water in thru the pinion shaft?

Probably not...the pinion seal should have kept it out....but our cars are known for leaky pinion seals.

yes. your best bet is to be safe and change the fliud. it can also come in through the axle tubes

I wouldn't think that you got any water in the diff through the pinion shaft. There is a seal on the pinion. That doesn't mean that it's impossible for water to get in there though. There is a breather on the top of the passenger side axle housing, but it's designed with a cap to where fluid can't just flow down in. I think you're prolly ok. If you still feel a little worried, now wouldnt be a bad time to replace your fluid and be sure to put some LSD additive in there if you have LSD.
