got 2 pc driveshaft, have a chance to get 1pc steel, what to do?

I have a stock 2 piece steel drive shaft right now, and have been talking to another fellow board member who is selling a 1 pc steel driveshaft. I am wondering for the money, should I just get a 1LE aluminum? What are the advantages besides the safty of a 1 piece driveshaft? I plan on swapping the whole rear out if money and the parts come up right, and I've done alot to the suspension in the rear (sway bars, panhard rod bar, LCA's) and soon will be working on shocks.

My main question is what is the difference in weight/performance of a steel 1 piece vs. a aluminum 1LE driveshaft?
