To go faster in a straight line I am not too proud of my 5 speed that I cannot admit that the auto cars with the right stall combo are faster in the 1/4 mile. Not all granted, but by and large, the fastest 1/4 mile racers are auto cars. Find one for me and I'll show you www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

IF your gonna bleed the system,I would jsut flush the line with new fluid, depending on how old yours was.
Mine had ~35k on it and it was toast.
I also had my slave cylinder replaced @7k miles on my car. I believe it was the slave that went out, locked the clutch up and overheated, destroyed the clutch, and gouged up the flywheel, was like $3200 in warranty work I think.

Got the tranny off. Interesting find. One of the 6 little springs around the clutch disc was broken out of its place. Completely gone it was. So that could have been part of it. It had alot of heat spots on the pressure plate, worn out the disc, flywheel looked alright though! Don't know which if any hydraulic parts are bad, so I'm replacing them all.
I called and spoke with the guys at SPEC, and they are taking care of me on the clutch!! I sent the old one back, they are sending me a new one since their part broke. Great service over there, yet another reason I always recommend their products. So Monday morning, the new clutch will be here, and we'll be putting in all the new arts and te resurfaced flywheel. Now I have another 500 mile break-in for the new clutch :( But after that back to the fun!!!www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

I considered it. But with 65k miles on it, stock parts, etc...I am going to go ahead and do it while we're at it. The master isn't that expensive anyway, for the peace of mind knowing that everything's in good working order.www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

Update: Finally it's finished. SPEC took care of me and replaced my old clutch with a new one, with the Xpad disc of course. It is MUCH smoother on engaging than the old disc was. I think the old was carbon or kevlar, but don't remember which. This one has the feel of a stock clutch, but I'm sure will hold the power that a stage 3 should (of course after te break-in period).
Replaced the slave cylinder while we were at it, not the pedal feels much more consistant, maybe softer, but I don't remember the last time I drove it with a good clutch. Also the rear main seal is now new. I HIGHLY recomend SPEC clutches to anyone looking for an aftermarket replacement. Call your favorite sponsor Texas Speed for the best prices around on SPEC clutches!www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!
