  • Speedo and shift problem

A little back ground first. I have a Jet SCU 2000 on my car. I drove my car over to a friend's house to wash and wax my car. In the process of cleaning my car, I sprayed Engine degreaser/cleaner in the engine well area.(trying to stay away from where I have my SCU mounted.) I sparyed the engien area down to clean it off. Once I was finshed and tried to drive home, the speedo doesn't move, and the car doesn't shift out of 2nd gear(the 1st to 2nd shift is only after the panic shift-6000rpms). I've checked all the fuses, I pulled a 502 code-which from my manual is the Vehicle Speed Sensor low voltage. I reset the pcm, and have yet to disconnect the SCU.

Has anyone had a problem like this? Could it be the SCU got fried it is somehow got wet? Or for some fluke the VSS has went bad?

I need answers ASAP,I need to fix my car, so I don't have to get rides from friends. Thanks

When I lost my scu2000 it was stuck int 1st and the speedo didn't move.

Check your connections make sure the ground is VERY GOOD. IF the connection are fine its probably fried, unhook it and see if it works, if it works it is definitely gone.
