  • Some transmission questions

Ok, I'm thinking of asking my mom and dad for some transmission parts for my car this Christmas, and you guys probably know the answer to my questions.

First, I want to get a LSD. How would I go about getting one? Could I order one from Jeg's? I can't buy anything online.

Second, I was thinking about getting a TransGo Shiftkit, but I don't know where to get it either. Could I order this one from Jeg's?

A lot of guys talk about getting a better servo, so how much would that help me? Same information needed as for the above topics.

Finally, where would I get all of this installed? I can't think of any local places that are transmission specialists.

Hmm, jegs may have some of the parts your looking for, but ask your local autoparts dealer.. A lot of times they can get most anything. A servo will firm up shifts even more, and it's a good idea especialy if you get a good kevlar 2-4 band to go with it (Although not necessary). Installation you could really do yourself if you feel your up to it. The 2-4 servo and transgo shift kit are easy installs. You could do the internals too, but it's a lot more complex. Also have you thought about a good stall?

          1. ebay has a ton of diffs, sometimes tacreations has them as well (depending on what gear ratio you currently have/plan to change to)

          2. you can get a shift improver or a shift kit; the shift kit is what you want because it actually changes your valve body, as opposed to a shift improver which electronically changes your line pressure... not the best way to do it.

          3. servos available on ebay for less than $15

you should be able to install these yourself; if not, ask around for a place that can. chances are somebody knows somebody.

            How about this

            http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...92&prmenbr=361

Is that a true shift kit, or is it like the B&M kit?

Yeah, dont waste your money on those electronic things. You want something with a new VB plate.
