I have a 97 firebird 3800 with a 5 speed in it and 3.73 gears i believe. When i do a burn out my right tire would spin and leave a nice burn out. Then i can also do a burn out and both tires would lock and leave 2 burn outs, and the rear would clunk like hell. So i decided to take my car on my friends lift and spin the tires. Spun the right and left went opposite. Then 3 days later spun the right and no left movement.........spun the left and no right movement....................and was like WTF. I know i might need the LSA's for the clunking or i think my diff is messed up. Is this normal???

did you upgrade to 3.73s? you need to check the codes list and match it to the codes list in the Technical database

3.23 gears are standard in all V6 manual trans. In your glove box should be a list of RPO codes, GU5 is the code for 3.23 ratio. G80 is the code for limited-slip differential.

Yeah i have the 3.23 gears in the rear and saw no G80 on the door code it just has the GU5.
So is this normal for the rear to be acting that way?

The "clunking" is probably rear wheel hop. LCA's are typically recommended to fix that problem.

Without a limited-slip rear, power is going to follow the path of least resistance and go to whichever tire has the least amount of traction. So it could spin first one tire, then the other if accelerating in a straight line. In a turn the inside wheel usually breaks.
