  • What carrier size does a 95 T/a have

I bought a rear end form a 95 T/a. How do I know what size carrier it has since it came with the 2.73 gears. The service parts identification shows to be GU2 so what is it for the carrier size???

    If it has 2.73 gears it's a 2-series carrier.

Any gear up to and including 3.08 used a 2-series carrier. Any gear 3.23 and over used a 3-series carrier.

So this means I bought a bogus rear end, and I still need to buy another LSD for the 3:42 upgrade???

One more thing to keep in mind with the 95 rearend... Your rims will not fit well on the rear. You will need to shave down the rim a little to get it to fit over the axle. Trust me, I learned the hard way.

NO. You CAN buy 2 series carrier 3.42 gears, you just have to look a little more.

If the Posi-unit in the rear-end is still good, just buy the 2 series gears.

I thought the 97+ wheels on the 93-96 rear fitment problems only existed on the drum rears.
