I have a 94 v6 automatic and for a while now i've noticed that my transmission makes a loud clunk when it shifts into I guess 3rd or 4th gear maybe?? Its usually on a highway or faster road, the car shifts into the gear with a loud clunk, then kind of rides a little rough and the rpms are kind of high, then if I press down more on the gas, it goes out of the gear into I guess the final gear and rides smoothly again and the RPMs go down to normal again.
I told my cousin cause he used to have a 95 z28, he said he had kind of a similar problem. He said that he had a small tranny leak too and all he did was buy a new mount for like $20.00 and unbolted the trans and put in the new mount and problem went away.
I don't have any leaks and it doesn't seem like the trans is slipping or anything. Everything else about the car seems to be riding fine, regular oil changes etc..
Its a 94 with 87,000 miles on it if that helps.
