Alright guys, I am picking up my rear end tomorrow (came off of a 2002 SS). A friend of mine is giving it to me for $100. The brakes are disc, so that is another +. Probably gonna go ahead and paint the calipers while I'm at it. Anyways, just wondering how long the swap will take me? How about the disc conversion? Any good detailed instructions on what I'll need for that? I searched, but there was nothing good enough. Hoping to get it on this weekend. Thanks guys!

Pics and details on my site about swapping a '96 TCS 3.42 V8 rear in my car and the modifications needed to the brake lines to make it work.
Your car I assume doesn't have TCS, but does the '02 rear?1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I'm gonna stick with drums for now, due to wanting to get it in, and not screwing things up right now. I want to read about it a little more before I convert (and there's no way in hell I'm taking my car to a shop). I'm gonna take it apart tomorrow and replace those bearings and inspect it so it's good to go for the weekend (job permitting). I excited to get this thing in, gonna need new rear tires very soon! Same here, about 6 hours total using air tools, running to Advance for a new set of poly end links (twisted one off) and 45 minutes of dicking with the brake lines (cutting ends, bending and flaring).
You have a greater chance of screwing things up if you open the rear and start pulling stuff out than if you just swap the whole rear.1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>

For the sway bar you can either take off the saddles if you want to keep your stock bar or take off the endlinks if you want to use the new bar.1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>
