    did search nothing again

will a 8.5 inch carrier fit in our housing???

i think ill need new axles, and the 8.5 is almost as strong as a 12 bolt 8.8 rear

    but other then the axles

No, the diameter of the carrier is too big for the housing on our 7 1/2 or 7 5/8 housings.

              What?
The HOUSING for the 7 5/8 is too small for the carrier out of the 8.5. If you put the carrier in that housing, you would have to use a sledge hammer to make it fit and then you would have to figure out how make the carrier spin.

A carrier made for an 8.5" rear is NOT going to fit in one that's 7 5/8". The only carriers that will fit are ones that are made for the 7.5" / 7 5/8" rear.

See if you break your rear on your new setup. If so, 12 bolt or 9 inch time.
