My car shifts hard about once every week, then I will stop, turn the car off, then start it back up, and it shifts fine. I posted this problem a couple weeks ago and someone said that I need to get my transmission serviced. Im gonna go in and have my transmission fluid changed tomorrow, Get all the old stuff out and put new stuff in. What exactly do they do when they "service the transmission"? Thanks for the help.

it could be the begining of a valve problem that is common in 4L60E's if you install the transgo shift kit it comes with a replacement valve that is supposed to fix the problem, if the problem is really bad, you may have to have the valve cylinder re-sleaved. Mine is doing this now, and it setting the 1870 code. if yours continues to do this i would consider looking at having that valve replaced, it's only like 50 bucks to have a local tranny shop do it if you pull the valve body.Justin96Bird / Justin98TransAm<p>1998 Navy Blue TransAm<p>Whisper Lid<br />free ram air<br />K&N Filter<br /><a href=\"http://www.hhbc.com/justin96bird/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">DynoMouth Exhaust</a><p><a href=\"http://www.hhbc.com/justin96bird/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.hhbc.com/justin96bird/index.htm</a>
