anyone recommend a 3.4L torque converter for a low cost? do you need any parts in advance before you get it and im also a little confused about how they work... thanks in advance for puttin up wit tha questions

They work like a clutch. Clutches use friction pads to grip and shift, torque converters use high pressure oil/hydraulics to grip. When looking for converters, try to match them to your cam and get as high an efficiency rating as you can.
