  • Surefire way to test clutch slipping?

Does anyone have a surefire way to test to see whether or not a jolting at higher RPM's under load is a clutch slipping?

Kind of feels like a miss, but could be clutch....

Anyone got a DEFINATE way to test it?

Drive down the road at 50 mph in fifth gear. Put the pedal to the metal without downshifting. If your rpm's climb but your speedo doesn't change, your clutch is slipping. If your rpm's don't really climb significantly, your clutch is holding.

Yup, this is the way I used to test out my clutches on my old cars. Works like a charm.

A bucking at high rpms sounds like it could be a miss more then a clutch slip.

get some slicks.. and dump it at 6k..

rofl.. if the wheels spin.. clutch is good..

if you smeel bunt up clutch.. its bad..

lolol.. not the most pratical method.. but it works..
