155 MPH Z28 spedo in 3.8

I was thinking of putting the 150MPH spedo in my 3.8 camaro. I have a HPP3 and can play with the tire hieght and rear gear ratio to get the speedo right. I know it will make my odometer go slower but my main concern is shift points. I think I can still get the shift points right just by changing the points with the HPP3. just wanted to get some thoughts on it before I try it out or see if anyone else has tried it.

I'm pretty sure it's been discussed quite a bit. What I have gathered is there is a mysterious resistor or chip that can be installed in a magical place that will make it work. Other than that I have no idea.

I was wanting to just replace the face of the cluster with white face that is made for the z28 not the entire cluster. everything is still in the same place just when I am at 125 it will say 155 so I was going to change the computer to make it think its going 125 when I am going 155 -(example)I think when I program it like that it may through my shift pnts off but I think I can fix them with the hpp3. just wondering if anybody has tried to do it this way. The way I am talking about doing it the car will be going faster than it thinks it is but the speedo will show the correct speed. this will make the odometer move slower than it should of course. I used this method to make my s10 go 138mph because the hpp3 would only let you set it to 129MPH max so I did this to trick it the only thing is the hpp3 for it did not let me set shift points and the speedo was way off because they didn't make a higher on for that truck
