OK here's the deal - I had my tranny rebuilt about 5 months ago (5,000 miles) and its been starting to slip. When I make it downshift into 1st gear going anywhere from 10mph-30mph it sounds like the engine is trying to go but the RPM just barely climbs then when it hits the 1-2 shift it relly kicks you into it hard. I took it to the tranny shop and the guy said it sounds like something other than the transmission. The thing is when he drove it it worked fine for him - it does it maybe 1 out of 5 times. Its really bad when its cold too, it'll do it off of the line rather than only when downshifting. He said possibly electrical problem or maybe the throttle position sensor is off or bad. Is it possible its one of these or are they trying to jerk me around? Thanks in advance.

I actually have a bad tps sensor right now and it doesn't really affect anything, as far as I can tell, I just have an ses code: LOW VOLTAGE/THROTTLE POS. SENSOR but my car is a manual so I'm not sure if it would affect us the same way. The guy at the tranny shop might have ment the MAF, but said TPS.1997 red 3.8 M5-Daily Driver
I/E, Magnaflow cat...

1990 Talon TSI AWD-Weekend Warrier
Forged internals, Front Mount, SS valves, crower springs, -still under construction.
