• need ring gear and bearing cap torque specs

I'm about to swap a take of LSD for my open diff, I need to know the torque specs for the ring gear bolts and the bearing caps??

also on another note how tough is it to get that abs reluctor ring off??

Here are torque specs directly from the gm service manual, ring gear bolts: 89lb ft, bearing cap bolts: 55lb ft.
To get the ring gear and reluctor ring off, once you have the bolts loose, keep them in there and get a hammer and piece of wood to gently knock the press fit loose. Just do it evenly to all the bolts and it will start to knock it out. Once its out far enough the bolts will catch it so the ring gear doesn't fall and get damaged. Then you can pretty much just take the reluctor ring off with your hand because it will be loosened up enough. When you put it on the new carrier just make sure to gradually increase the torque on the ring gear bolts so it will be pressed back down evenly. I hope this helped some, if you need anymore torque specs just let me know.

Getting the abs ring and ring gear was no prob. Getting the diff out of the rear was my challenge -- laying under the car I had to sideways-jump on a wedged-in picklefork, and then it finally plopped out onto my garage floor!

yea getting the old open dif. out was a pain. I just took a wooden hammer handle and pryed it out. Getting the LSD in was no problem at all though, since the right spacers are out its real easy to place it back in there.
