one simple question...

is the install kit a NECESITY for the installation of the oem LSD? or is it something that isnt NEEDED, however is generally the best idea.

Not at all. The install kit is necessary for installing a new gearset, as you would be replacing the pinion, which needs to be sealed, shimmed, etc. The kit has new bearings, but the LSD has bearings on it already that will still work -- they're 5 miles new.e
