hard accelerating problem

i have a 1993 camaro v6 and i am having a clutch issue. it is revving but it doesnt go... i am letting the clutch out, it moves just fine but when i accelerate hard in 2nd gear it just holds at 4000 until it catches up. my clutch isnt ratteling ir is actually kinda firm, would this be a master cylinder/slave issue ir could it be the throwout bearing sticking? please help.

If, when you have the car in gear (especially higher gears) and you punch the gas, and the engine revs, then you need a new clutch. Try going slow, like 25 mph in fourth gear, and punch it, see if your engine revs up. If yes, then thats your problem.
