yeah, if it came out a ws6 it will work. The spline you need is 28.

      Re: Posi differential

why do you want 3.23s? do you plan on driving at speeds like 130mph all the time or something? do you not want good city stop-and-go gas mileage?
do you really want to accelerate slower?
I would get AT LEAST 3.42s, but 3.73s would be perfect!

Actually many people do get better city mileage when the go with lower gearing, just because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to get the car moving.
          Old Car = 12.679 @ 106.5 on 150 dry shot.

            Re: Posi differential

yeah, i think im gonna have to disagree with that too. A lower gear ratio (ie. 3.73,4.10) will cause your motor to be running at higher rpms in every gear. higher the rpms=more gas consumption. The only thing i can figure is it wont take as much throttle to get up to speed with the lower gear ratio, but once your in a gear, you will be running higher rpms than what you would before.

              I'll disagree with that one.
99camv6 over on fullthrottlev6.com recorded his gas mileage before and after.
he gets better gas mileage IN CiTY, with 4.10s, than his stock gear.

I get better gas mileage too(I'm 4.10s) because of all the stop and go.
Oh, and running higher rpms is bad? not entirely! higher rpms put you closer to your max hp/max tq powerband which gets you better gas mileage.
however, higher rpms = lower engine life

                Re: Posi differential

people have this thing about saying 3.73s and 4.10s hurting your gas mileage....I dont think so. It may just alitte but nothing to whine about and if you were worried about gas you wouldnt mod your car anyway. I have 3.73s and I will not go with anything lower especially with my turbo on the car to help get out of the hole....if you want n/a go with 4.10s and if you want boost I suggest 3.42s or 3.73s

                  Re: Posi differential

thanks for all the feedback guys. yeah haha i ment to put 3.73 gears, my mistake. yeah im thinking if i dont buy that i may just go for the complete rear end with disc breaks from tacreations. however with that auction comes 4.11 gears, would it be a bad idea to run that with my 75 dry shot ? this may be a question for the nitrous section but i figured i'd try here.. thanks again ! oh , and what would be a "ballpark" price on getting everything retuned so my speedo/tach work?

i dunno what year you have, but 97+ will cost you just 150$ to get a tune AND fix your speedo/tach.

                        Re: Posi differential

better mileage or not with gears with the added acceleration.

higher rpms = worse gas mileage....

                          Re: Posi differential

so the 2002 ws6 differential will accept 28 spline axles right ? i think i may just keep the 4.11 gears. im not too concerened about gas millage.
