Hey, I bought a used differential off of ebay a little while ago. I was looking at it and it came with the ring with the teeth (not the ring gear) that go around the outside of the differential. On 2/3 of the circumference, it is flush the the differential, but it is shifted a little on about 1/3 of the circumference. The teeth have no damage to them whatsoever, so i dont think it was dropped. Will this straighten out when the ring gear is bolted to the differential? If not do i get a new one of these with a full gear install kit? (I ordered summit's full gear install kit)

Re: Auburn Differential Still Good?
Ok.. this one is going to need a picture. I get what your trying to say... but the "teeth" are the ring gear unless I missed something.
Get a picture and post it up... that might help us more, help you. :)FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com Administrator

Re: Auburn Differential Still Good?
That's the ABS reluctor ring. It should be pretty close to perfect right now.
What gears do you currently have? If you've got series 3, then you can just reuse the one you've got. They're only like 20 or 30 bucks, I think. I believe SLP carries them.Matt

Re: Auburn Differential Still Good?
When you bolt the ring gear on it will press the reluctor gear firmly back in place.1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>
