Re: LSD, or shocks and springs?

Well whats more important for your Car is the LSD , lowering isnt gonna help ya that much (even tho some people swear by it) , so i would stick with a good LSD , some 3.42's or 3.73's . Do you have the 1 piece aluminum driveshaft yet ?

Actually, shocks and springs does a whole lot more than lower your car. I would recommend that first, especially if your car has more than 50K miles on it. They will make a WORLD of difference in the way your car handles.

Re: LSD, or shocks and springs?

I'm going to have to lean towards 98 3.8's side on this. If your car has higher milage I would go ahead and do the shocks and springs otherwise I would go LSD.

Re: LSD, or shocks and springs?

i was leaning in the same direction. my car has 70K on it, and its feeling pretty flexy in the turns, and i have a feeling that if i get limited slip, plus the fact that i have ****ty factory tires, that i would be slipping out ALOT

Re: LSD, or shocks and springs?

Well in reality, the LSD would make you "slip out" much less. With your current open differential, when one of your wheels starts to slip, all the power is transferred to that wheel. With an LSD, if one wheels starts to slip, the LSD engages and puts more power to the wheel that still has traction. This will increase your traction, not decrease it. (regardless of how good or crappy your tires are)

That said, I still think you should do springs/shocks first. :)

Re: LSD, or shocks and springs?

I think it all depends on what you want to do with your car. If you want to drag race get LSD, but if you want to corner better get shocks and springs.

Re: LSD, or shocks and springs?

They sell the LSD Carriers for $400 on LM PERFORMANCE that would still leave ya with $200 to get good shocks and maybe some used springs . Someone on here has some on ebay right now i think .

I think the best thing would be SHOCKS , SPRINGS AND LSD :P

Re: LSD, or shocks and springs?

I want a car thats fast at the strip but can still handle the corners with ease. the great thing about the shocks and springs is that i can install them myself, but with the lsd, the cost for install would be a *****. but on the other hand...one wheel burnouts are gay...
