  • Z-28 Rear End Swap & Diff/Gears

If I get a rear end to swap out so I can have disk brakes will I be able to use my current differential and gears or is it a different carrier? If not then what's the best way to get disk brakes and keep my diff. and gears?

Why dont you wanna use the Z28 Diff and gears ? if you're gears are higher then the ones in the Z28 as long as they are the GM 7.5" (28 spline?) gears they should fit and both Z28 and V6 should have same size carrier so should (10 bolt 7.5 or 7.65...) be no porblem , and it is the easiest way to get Discs in the back

Yeah, sorry, I guess I should have clarified. I have a Z-T LSD and 3.73 gears. I pretty much was wondering if the carrier was the same and I can just switch them into a Z-28 rear. Thanks!

If your $hit is newer I would just use your diff and gears.. Besides your rear has seen less abuse then most Z28's rear ends!!

If you've already done gears and differential why would you want to swap the entire rear? Just buy the calipers, mounting brackets, cables, pads and rotors. You do have to pull the axles but it's still easier than swapping the entire rear.
