Installed a new clutch master cylinder. (this is a 2000) Now, I've bled two pints of brake fluid through it, pumped it about 500 times, and I still have hardly any pedal- this last time, it gets stiffer toward the bottom, but it will not return on it's own and the first 3/4 of travel there is nothing. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

haha i just went through this myself. go to autozone and buy a Mityvac. its only $30 and worth every penny. so much air that it still took 35 minutes of pumping but my clutch line is completely bled and no bubbles at all.

lol I guess I probably should. At least there are lots of other things I can use it for besides this stupid clutch. :)

yeah its nice for bleeding brakes and what not too. even if you only use it for your clutch its well worth the $30 for the time and hassle it saved me

Well, the Mityvac rules my world. 20 minutes and the pedal feel is better than it's ever been. Best $30 I've spent on a tool in a while. :)

Sweet, glad it worked for you. Vac pumps rock the bleeding world.

haha you sound just like me. i felt the same way once i finally got everything back together. isnt it amazing all the bubbles that come out with that thing. best part is i through it on my dads car one night cuz the peddle felt a little weak and he said it just started. sure enough two pumps of the clutch later and a few big air bubbles came out and the peddle was back to normal again. nice little tool. lot easier than climbing underneath and bleeding it

I just got a mityvac and was wondering how you sucked the air out of the lines without getting under the car?

I think it's impossible to bleed the clutch manually. LOL

I tried and tried and tried, no luck. It SUCKED.

I finally had it towed to a tranny shop, and they had a power bleeder on it, bled it right away for $20.00

you can stick the mityvac line into the clutch fluid reservoir(theres a hole in the bottom) and power bleed it through that.
