    Re: whats a good clutch?

I have a 98 with a Spec Stage III, I run an 85 shot and it seems to be holding fine. The clutch has been in for about a year and I think the throwout bearing is about to out, because it's making some wierd noises, but that isn't necessarily the clutches fault. So, overall I've been very happy with it. It's completely streetable, allows you to easily light the tires up whenever you want and can handle an 85 shot.
    Old Car = 12.679 @ 106.5 on 150 dry shot.
    New Car = 2010 3.6l 304hp Camaro

Get a SPEC Stage 2 (up to 375ftlbs/torwue) or a SPEC 3 (up to 475ftlbs/torque) , i just got my Stage 3 and its Solid , specially if you're gonna be smoking the tires of you'll want a good clutch , the Centerforce clutch will do good aswell , but don't get the normal ones you can buy at napa , those won't last long for performance purposes , i bought one there ones for a 383 Stroker S10 , said it was good up to 500hp , first Race at the 1/4 mile it went GOODBYE :P

keep in mind that a spec will chatter more. and the higher the spec clutch the more noise

Kristen....agreed the Spec clutch (specially stage 3) makes a lot more noise, but if you don't mind the noise it defenetly lasts. (30K miles , lots of 1/4 + 1/8 passes) and the clutch still feels like the day i put it in :)

YEah stage 3 is pretty Agressive !! like if you're running 300-550HP then thats what id suggest , for mildly modified V6 camaro (210-290 HP) id say Stage 2 and for a bone stock ( Maybe an air intake or some exhaust) Stage 1 is even good enough
