So i bought a rear from a 2000 T/A and installed it into my 97 V6 camaro, and a one piece drive shaft. The only things that weren't direct swaps were the brake lines and some kind of sensor (bad that i dont know what it is? ). Because the new axle had two different brake lines going to the front of the car, i used the splitter block off my old rear, and then used compression fittings to make franken-lines, by combining the ones off the new axel with the ones off my old one, because the two axle's had different types of ends on the lines. And the other issue was a sensor that looked down into the top of the old differential and apparently read the ring gear, however the new rear had 2 sensors on it that had the same connecter so i just extended the wire and plugged it into the right rear wheel's sensor. The old sensor ohmed lower than the new ones (120 to 315 or something), but it seems to be working, as i haven't thrown any lights. Otherwise it was a fairly simple swap, just somewhat awkward at times with the weight. All help was appreciated and i hope this helps anyone who runs into these things. The compression fittings dont appear to be leaking yet either. Hope that all makes sense, i didnt know how to explain it all exactly.

Re: Update on my rear swap
The sensor that didn't connect to your car's wiring was probable the TCS (traction control) sensor. That would also explain the second brake line, which is used for the traction control system.1998 M5 3.8 Mystic Teal Camaro<br />Flowmaster exhaust, Pacesetter headers, 3\" cat, 3\" S-pipe, whisper lid, ram air, Spec Stage 1 clutch, Poly Trans mount, Walbro 255LPH. Re: Update on my rear swap
Yup, sounds like the new rear was from a TCS car that has 4-channel ABS vs. your 3-channel.Drivetrain Moderator - "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people!"
