What transmission do I have ??

Own a 1999 firebird 3.8 l automatic (it’s a convertible) the transmission having a hard time shifting sometimes I want to replaced or rebuilt me friend is a mechanic he said that gm was providing 2 different trans abut that time and he sad that one is beater to replace and that the other one to rebuild will hold up to 600 hp

so with one I have ????

You have a 4L60E.

they only made one v6 automatic trans . the 4l60e

yes, 4l60e is what you have. it is an A4.

yes but . that 4l60 wouldnt fit in his car . it is the same trans only with a few more electronics

the 4L60 is a renamed 7004R. 94+ got the "E" designation
