hey guys, i have a 1997 camaro with 5speed manual trans
can anyone tell me what transmission and gears came stock for 97 manual car
the preivous owner decided it would be cool to remove the rpo sticker
i was thinking it was a t-5 but then i see some 97's with an m-5??
wow. ok m5 means manual-5spd. its just a way everyone shortens it. t-5 is the name of the transmission. Borg warner t-5. and all manual v-6's came with 3.23 gears in the rear

For your rpo codes you might want to look in your glove compartment. I've heard of GM putting the sticker in there on some cars, unless you know for a fact that the previous owner took of the sticker. Or you could give your vin number to a dealership and get all the rpo's from them for your car.
(i know your original questions were already answered, just thought i'd let you know incase there were any other codes that you wondered about in the future.)
