                    Re: flywheel

It may basically be the same thing except for the stock flywheel was a crapload more then 2lbs...I think the lightweight flywheels still weigh in at around 11-12lbs. The stockers are upwards of 15-16lbs if I remember correctly.

I could have the weights mixed up. I've got a alum flywheel sitting in my room I'll weigh it when I get home.

Edit: The weight difference may be 7-8lbs lightened alum, 11-12 stock.

                      Re: flywheel

Flywheel on a manual = clutch engagement surface

Flywheel and flexplate both = starter engagement, balance, and inertia

                        Re: flywheel

I remember reading that every pound of rotating weight is equal to 11 lbs of static weight in a car/bike. So if its 5 lbs less weight, its like haveing your little sister get out of the car.

                        From a ATv magazine

"Removing one pound of rotating mass (unsprung weight), is like removing 11 pounds of vehicle weight."

                          Re: flywheel

The lightweight flywheel (shipping package and all) weighs 10lbs. So its probably a little under 10lbs.
