I've got a 1995 Camaro 3.4 L Auto, the tranny had been a little funky for a while, kinda had to mess with the shifter a little bit to get it into gear but no real problem.
Now, every gear except park is acting as reverse. I can only imagine how expensive this will be. Any thoughts?
Not necessarily, you said your shifter has been acting up for a while and now you only have park and reverse. I'm thinking since reverse is only one click back from park, maybe the shifter is not actually putting the transmission in to neutral or drive and all you need is some work on the shifter and not the tranny itself. Just a thought.
That's what hager is trying to say. Maybe the trans is fine, but the shifter is stuck or busted and isn't commanding anything except reverse, no matter what gear you select with the knob.
