  • What do you mean by chatter?

I'm looking at getting a new clutch since mine has been on the downward spiral for a while, and I searched and saw a lot of posts about chatter from the SPEC-II clutch which is what I was thinking about getting.

Can anyone describe what you mean by chatter??

    -OR-

Could someone reccomend another clutch besides the SPEC

price is an issue... but it has to last...

If your car is a 99+ chances are you wont have much if any chatter with a Stage 2. If you want to be 100% sure of no chatter, I'd go with a Stage 1 unless you are planning on some big mods in the near future because the SPECs arent designed to last very long. Most last a few years or about 20k miles mixed in with some track runs. If you plan on keeping it mostly stock, I'd replace it with an oem clutch

hard to explain you will notice it...

think of a when you let the clutch out slowly, that it "GRIPS! SLIPS! GRIPS! SLIPS!" sort of causing the car to vibrate as I move forward.

        I have a 2k, and it chatters.

Why would a 99+ not chatter?

To answer the original question you will basically feel a vibration and the clutch won't quite be engaged.
