Yeah you can, make sure it doesn't have traction control though.

Whats the matter if it has traction control? Will the traction control not work, or will the whole thing not work at all? Just curious because I just got a call about a '94 Z28's rear end, and I said ya I want it. But I didn't bother asking if it had traction control, my car doesn't. '95 3.4 A4

I don't think that 94s came with TC. Just check the gears that are in it. If it's an auto Z, then you might need to do a gear swap with it. The rearend that I got from an auto Z had 2.73s, which my V6 had 3.23s. Now it doesn't leave the line as good. Just something to consider.

Make sure you get the rear end from a six speed car. All six speeds came with 3.42 gears. All automatic's have 2.73 gears unless it's a WS6 or SS which came with 3.23's.

I got a complete Z28 rearend from a local salvage yard for $150 to put in my daughter's '92 Firebird and it fit perfectly.

Explain how I'm wrong? What RPO code does your car have?

Not all automatics had 2.73s. One of my friend's 94 formula did but my other friend's Z28s had the 3.23s. One of my buddies found a 95 Z28 auto that was specially ordered with 3.42s.

^^ Thats correct, you could special order 3.23's or 3.42's if you wanted them.

Just take the ring and pinion out of your current diff and swap them....

Well a buddie of mine bought an eBaY rearend and the spider gears where chipped. Just remember you get what you pay for. If you where building a grocery getter then used parts are just fine. If your building a performance machine then you should really buy new especially drivetrain components. If u cant afford new parts then you should lay off the drugs or stop having babies. I make $350 a week and i can afford new parts.
