  • Differential gasket change?

I noticed my differential has a little wetness on it. Not a drip, but kinda like a little seapage going on. I was planning on replacing the gasket next oil change. Could someone go over the steps involved in doing this? I've never done it, but I'm sure its not too hard. Is there a drain plug on the bottom and a filler plug on top for the fluid? Do the bolts need to be torqued to a certain ft/lbs? I just want someone more experienced than myself to advise me before I do it. Thanx.

    1. Unbolt the cover and remove.
    2. Clean off any gasket residue.
    3. Reinstall the cover with new gasket.
    4. Refill with 80W-90 geal oil thru top filler plug (limited slip diff require additive)

    Sorry, no bottom drain plug.

If you use a torque wrench on the cover bolts it's less likely to leak.

use rtv sealant or whatever its called if your not using a torque wrench to be safe
