some signs are vibrations and clunks. It is pretty easy to replace. just a floor jack and hand tools.

*cought* 3, well technically 2 bolts and one nut.

IF you have a 5-speed, put it in first go like 5-10 miles an hour, with your hand on the shifter get on and off the gas violently and if the shifter is bouncing up and down, you need a new tranny mount.

my car does this with my new tranny mount in.

if your tranny mount is bad, you will hear clunks when you start letting the clutch out

when you get under your car, you will see your transmission mount'.. it's really easier than you think.

ON MY CAR.. i have 4 bolts, or nuts.. whatever they are

2 bolts that hold a crossmember, take those out, and then you can access the 2 bolts to the transmission mount, R&R. Reinstall crossmember and your set.

I dont know about torque specs though.

                        Re: Transmission Mount

very simple. get your car up on jackstands. when under the car look at the crossmember. there is a bolt that goes through the crossmember and hold the tranny mount to the crossmember. once that is out place the floor jack under the trans and lift it up off the crossmember. take out the 4 15mm bolts holding the crossmember to the body. there are two bolts that hold the mount to the trans. take them off, and then the old mount drops down. put the new one on. just tighten it alot. no need to torque it just tighten the crap out of it but not enough that your gonna break it. put the crossmember back in and then bolt the tranny back onto the crossmember with the first nut. and your done. you'll spend more time jacking your car up off the ground then changing out the mount. shouldnt be more than an hour
