    Hi everyone. I have a good deal on a 2-series carrier from a 98 trans am, and I was wondering if this carrier (7 1/2 - 7 5/8, 10 bolt, 28 spline) would work in my 99 v6 camaro with 3.08 gears. Thanks.

    you should already have a 2 series if you have 3.08s...

      ^^ He's right. 3.42's and 3.73's need a 3 series carrier. Your 3.08's already have a 2 series.

        O sorry for the confusion guys, I am wondering if there is a 2-series posi, or if only 3-series carriers are posi. I have an open differential with 3.08s, or at least I assume mine is open because when I do a burnout, only the right rear spins. Sorry for the mix up

          what would you use 3.08s for? the Autobahn?
          I would AT LEAST step up to 3.42s!!!
          3.08s = bad city mileage

              Yes you can simply swap your existing open carrier for that 2-series LSD from the T/A. All V8's came with limited slip as standard, whether they had 2-series or 3-series gears.
