    Ok ive only had my firebird for about a month now, so im kinda new to it i dont even know what kinda gears i have in it. Asuming that there stook could someone tell me what i should have in a '99 Firebird

    '96 Trans Am M6:) Cam, lifters, 1.6rr, lt4 springs, 4 bolt mains, long tubes, TDs, short throw...etc

    considering its a 99 its prolly like 3.23s or 3.42s with posi and rear disk...?

    EDIT: there should be a rpo code for it on the door or in the glove box

          4.56's. :D For a daily driver, 3.73's would be most popular but there are many people who have 4.10's and drive it everyday.

          To answer your question though, go 4.10's to get the best 1/4 times.

            considerations include transmission type
            2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!

              I have 3.42, :) , but ill prolly go up to 3.73s or 4.10 if i can find cheap ones.

                i was just asking what kind of tranny do you have?
                If you have auto and drive highway get 3.73
                if you have auto and dont drive highway get 4.10
                if you have manual and drive highway 4.10s or 3.73s
                if you have manual and dont drive highway 4.10s

                    3.73 is a good all around gear with decent performance

                      well since u have 3.42 and go to 3.73 u wont feel that much of a diffrence u feel some thing but not as much as u would on 4.10. i had 3.42 and went with 3.73 but i wish i went to 4.10s. i to have a auto and i do a lot of driving my 1/4 mile didnt change that much from 3.42 to 3.73 but it is up to u. u want good 1/4 mile go for the 4.10 u would wish u did
                      2000 camaro rs:whisperlid, 2.5 magnaflow exhaust, catco high flow cat, fast toys cai, 3.73, 160 power stat, msd 8.5 wires ngk iridium spark plugs, hpp3, zzp w/p and alt. under drive pullies, 1.9 Rockers/LS6 Springs with ls1 retainers
