  • Tranny Missing?

I have a 00 camaro w/ automatic. When I get on the gas and accelerate it will start to feel like the trans is slipping in the high rpm range, over 3500. Also, the exhaust seems to start backfiring when this happens. Anyone got an idea where I should look to get this fixed. Does this sound like the trans is ready to die or does this sound more like an ignition prob? Id appreciate any advice you all could give me.

are you getting any SES lights? if it was slipping it would do it all the time, not just at a certain rpm range typically.

yeah, i was leaning towards that too. i dont see it being a tranny problem.

It's not throwing any codes. I am leaning more towards ignition now too it's just that when it feels like it's slipping it really feels like the trans was just not grabbing the "gear" especially from first to second. thanks for the suggestions.
