I'm looking for gears for my car. I found some out of a 96 Z28, but then I got reading about how there's different carriers. Mine has the stock gearing in it, it's a 97 3.8. I pretty much am asking if these'll work in my car fine. If not, what would, and where would I get them?

Re: Quick Question
While doing gears I would look at getting an lsd also. Unless you already have one. If you get the lsd then it doesn't really matter what carrier just as long as the carrier for the lsd you get and the gears are the same. I'm pretty sure the gears you are looking at (the Z28 gears) are a 3 series carrier. I'm not sure what carrier you have though. I have a 95 and I have a 2 series carrier.

Re: Quick Question
Do you have an auto or a stick?
Since you have a 97 3.8 you dont have disc brakes. If you want a serious upgrade look for a 00+ model rear with disc brakes and limited slip. Rember to check the door code for GU4, GU5, and GU6 for gear sizes.
I recommend the 3.42s or 3.73s for street automatics, and dont forget changing gears needs a PCM reprogram for the new gear size for the automatic to work and the speedo to be correct. Do it right or dont bother :) If you have more q's PM me2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
