that's what I wanted to hear. I don't power shift or otherwise beat on the transmission. I do quick, forceful gear changes however. As long as I'm not doing anything outside the normal operation of a manual car (accelerate, disengage clutch, shift to next gear, engage clutch, accelerate. Rinse and repeat.), I should be fine, right?
I've had to rebuild the tranny once (killed 3rd, 4th and 5th), replace the clutch once, and replace 2 tranny mounts before I put in a poly one and I bought my car fresh from the factory. I also street raced and drag raced it for ~5 years.
T5 is fine. Mod your car enough and your going to break 3rd gear racing it, tho.

Can a T-5 be built up (re-built) to handle extra power?
I've just gone FI on my '02, and I know the service life of the tranny will be reduced... but when the time comes for the re-build, can't anything be done to better allow the tranny to take the added punishment?
Thanks Kindly,
