I'm looking to put a powerdyne in my 01 camaro, but i have an Auto (yeah, i know) and was wondering what, if any, mods i need to make to reinforce it. Or hell, any that i might want to make to help her run better once i increase the psi.
Also, whats a good way to go with the diff gearing?
torque converter upgrade is the 1 major upgrade to the A4 tranny that will get you a decent 1/4 mile time reduction, up to .5 seconds. After that, some upgraded servo's and a shift kit will quicken ur shifts, and some tuning to remove as much torque management at upshift as possible. These are just basic and bare minimum mods you can do that most ppl get the greatest satisfaction out of.

^^^ I can definitely vouch for that: Best time before converter: 15.7. Best time after: 15.3.
The converter alone took .4 off my time. That was with a crappy '60 too.
Nothing to be ashamed of having an automatic, just stall the ***** and watch it kill manual cars off the line. An aftermarket converter can also have more efficiency (mine is 97%) which helps to close the gap between the auto and manual trannies.
You're going to want a LOT more supporting mods for a blower than just drivetrain stuff....
I have an Edge converter and have been very impressed with it over the 4 years I've had it. It's 3000 stall 2.4 str
I would recommend installing an aftermarket tranny cooler with the converter, although Edge says their converters won't make the tranny run hot. I have a B&M cooler
Corvette servo/shift kit are good mods (if you don't mind your tranny shifting really hard) but not THAT necessary, there are other things you can do to improve drivetrain efficiency, like installing a lighter driveshaft.
