Hey everyone i have recently purchased an aluminum driveshaft...well the one i purchased has the set up for a 12 bolt...do i need to change the u-joint in this or will it still fit the same way on my 10 bolt? Can any one lead me in the right direction on how to do this...?? I tried installing it tonight but had alot of trouble...i didnt realize that i had to have the car in neutral..wish i would of known that before i started....but i will re attempt tonight if someone can answer my question above if this will work or not....If it doesnt work how do i change the u-joint to a 10 bolt?

If it is an LS1 shaft it most likely has a conversion joint on the rear to mate up to a 12-bolt rear. You can do a trial fit first to see if it works on your pinion flange. It should fit tightly between the ears of the flange and after the caps are bolted in place there should not be any play in the joint.
If you have to replace it just get a standard joint for your shaft/rear. I don't believe there is a difference between the steel and aluminum shaft joints in 4th Gens. Since the joint was replaced once it probably has C-clips inside the shaft ears, just take those off and then pound the joint out.
