N/A yea,i understand that. but all i wanted to know was if stage 3 was too much, i was looking at stage 2+ but theres not much of a price diffence between 2+ and 3.

i got the 2 and had no problems with it...but i should have gotten the stage 3 since the price wasnt that much different

The clutch was ordered through our sponsor FTPP.net - the guy was super nice and I'll have the Centerforce DF on Tuesday. I will try to take pictures and show everyone WHAT failed exactly.

The SPEC-2 was a great clutch for me until it died- and it went out with a bang and I wasn't driving hard. God only knows why it went, it should've been tougher than stock.

We'll see how the CF is.

keep us updated on that CF, my stock clutch is still pretty good ( 42K ) but with me driving ( first car and its a M5 ) im not expecting to get the full life out of it.

thats understandable, i would consider 3rd the power gear on the T5. 2nd to 3rd shift is probably the most missed gear when shifting hard. that is if you dont have an aftermarket shifter =)

sucks to hear it. does seem a little odd that your pretty stock and killed 3rd gear when big number guys ran a while with the stock tranny.

Big numbers guys break 3rd or they are an auto. Plain and simple. He'll I've broken 3rd with my little 200rwhp.

edit: or they beef up the tranny.

im aware that they break it, but thats big power. all i was saying is that its weird that stock power killed it.

yup i think about every car has fubared 3rd but they usaly have turbo/sc/nos lol

lol I oly killed 3rd gear once, not even sure it was 3rd gear, 1,3, and 5 didn't work after that run. LOL

I've got a full intake and exhaust setup, nothing out of the ordinary, so I'm basically stock with mods but no power adders, no nitrous, and the car has only seen the track twice in it's life. Even still, 47000 miles I broke 3rd. I talked to a Mustang Tremec rebuld guy and he said it was common on stangs running juice or superchargers.

I think I had a faulty tranny from the getgo, I never did have an easy ability getting it into 1st gear from a stoplight like with this new one, so things worked out for the best :)

Also, for future use - after calling around I discovered there really aren't any beefy parts for our T5, and refitting a TKO in it's place is difficult. So for right now, I'm keeping a T5 in it, but I'm discouraged because I'll probably break 3rd at some point in the future if I add a power adder eh?
