so i bought an aluminum driveshaft, i take out the 2pc p.o.s. stock steel driveshaft.. throw the aluminum one on. The piece that connects to the tranny fits perfectly but the bottom of the driveshaft doesnt. Looks like the ujoints on the aluminum one are wider.. so what should i do, thought about swapping them but then thought the it might rattle and move back and forth if i did. what do you guys recommand me doing..

Re: Bought an Aluminum Driveshaft but..
^^Agreed, but don't try to force it into place if it's too large or you'll end up with a much bigger problem. I had to lightly sand some dirt on old grease buildup from inside of the rearend fitting in order to fit my aluminum driveshaft. If it still doesn't want to work, just go to Autozone or similar auto store and buy new u-joins. they "should" be compatible without any problems.sigpic

Re: Bought an Aluminum Driveshaft but..
they free up HP you normally lose, "parastetic lose" (something spelled much like that)
a alumin. ds takes away weight from the rotating assembly, resulting in about 5-10 hp freed up.
