Alright well the other night I was crusing down the highway about 80-85mph somewhere around there and was attempting to downshift to 4th but my luck ran out and I hit second. As I let out on the clutch my rear end jerked the car VERY hard, followed by a huge backfire. I pulled over, let the car cool down for a bit, start it up and here come the problems..
First of all, on startup when the starter is turning the engine, it makes a sound similar if you were to stick some change in a can and shake it around. This seems to happen whenever the car is in neutral. Sounds pretty horrible. All of the gears go in and out fine and as far as the tranny that is the only problem i know of there.
Onto a bigger problem, it seems my rear end likes to vibrate violently for a few seconds which I mainly notice in 2nd gear after about 3krpm.
Also, since this has happened, whenever I hit the smallest bump and the car shakes, my ABS, the parking brake, and low traction lights come on. This happened since I did the 5-2 shift.
The car is going to a shop today, and I already know its going to be an expensive **** up, but has anyone had a similar situation or have an idea to what I might have messed up? Everyone im talking to keeps giving me different answers. Thanks in advance :wavey:
I have the 3.42 rear end of that is of any help.
