The clutch is ready to go soon, I can feel it. Even the guys I trust at the car wash tell me so as they stall the 3.8 upon driving the '96 Camaro inside.
The clutch pedal is at its high point and I thought I could pick your minds on what should be a complete R&R ( remove & replace ) job.
So far the checklist I compiled is as follows:
1- my choice of brand name aftermarket clutch ( CenterForce or Ram )
2- a resurfaced flywheel
3- throwout bearing
4- hydraulic slave thingy ( give me the specific name? )
5- one piece rear main seal ( gotta do it while I'm there, why not? )
6- aluminum driveshaft ( still looking for one locally )
What else do I need besides forking over hundred$$$ of dollar$$$? The stock 5 speed is in excellent condition.
I did a Search and I was still undecided about which clutch package to purchase, someone blew up their Spec II setup I read recently here.
I believe GM makes the hydraulic slave assembly a perfect replacement part but are there any other aftermarket companies I should look into?
My Camaro has been so trustworthy to me that I want to keep it going with excellent quality parts. I am authorizing a hardcore speed shop to do the install also. The guys there want to slap a Tremec tranny in there but the plans were to keep it stock for now. My hardcore project is in the planning stages for 2007.
