As was mentioned earlier be very careful the first time you drive on wet roads with a LSD. If the roads are wet at all pretty much dont touch the pedal around turns. It is very easy to underestimate what a lowly v6 camaro/firebird will do in wet conditions.

There are no cons on LSD.
FunkZ, nice writeup , I used it back then when I did mine.
I did use 2x4 to pray LSD out , and yea those Ring bolts are Left threaded(yea , I know its in writeup, would be better if its highlighted, bold and super size, cause someone here was too lazy to read and did a boo-boo :slap: )

Yeah its definitely worth it to have one. I'm just saying dont punch it at all when the roads are wet untill you get used to it. The car will be sideways in no time.

And slow6, if you dont have a LSD the back end is much less likely to get sideways on you since only one of the tires are spinning. With a LSD both tires will be spinning so you will lose traction completely in the back. I'm only talking about wet roads of course.

The rear end of my car would come out very easily in wet conditions with LSD and without. LSD helps a lot with traction, one of the first mods I did.

yeah.. i would have to say this is good advice. driving on LSD in wet conditions will almost certainly prove to be quite the challenge.

i disagree. i love LSD. yes, if u do spin both the entire back end will lose traction. HOWEVER, it takes twice as much power to break 2 loose as it does one... and when u're in the snow or rain and break em loose sideways, u can lose the back end with open diff or lsd. there's not really any cons to it, just remember to use good fluid and a LSD additive.

If you think about it, LSD don't lose traction easier on wet/icy roads. Think, with an open diffy, all power would go to one wheel when floored, so only 1 wheel would break free. So, it would get better traction, than a LSD would, since it puts power to both wheels, breaking both wheels free.

It still applies to wet roads, and I just figured snow covered/icy roads would be somewhat the same....

Yeah when both back tires are spinning in snow it doesn't work so good. And what I was saying is once you break traction in a car with a LSD it will be much more slick than a car without. True it does take more to break loose, but once you do its a lot easier to lose control. Basically just keep in mind that it will always slide further than you think it will.

LSD owns. So does a built up 350 with a 6 speed in my uncle's old firebird.
