  • Gears question

Well, my dad and I are puttin my new DS in tomorrow, and figured I'd check out what gears I have while I'm at it. Supposedly, the 97 manual 3.8's came with 3.23's. But, I read in the mod encyclopedia that general highway speeds for 3.73 gears is around 2500-2800 RPMs.....that's about my general RPM when on the interstate. It doesn't say if that's for auto or manuals, it just says it. So, is there anyway to figred out what gears I have without going under the car? I'd like to know right now, which is why I wanna know w-out going under the car. I do ~45MPH in 3rd gear @ ~2800RPMs. I'm also not sure about open or limited diffy. I do one wheel burn-outs sometimes, yet also do 2 wheels sometimes....

    Any help's appreciated guys, Thanks

(gotta put the banna in here somewhere  )

That's the thing....my door codes have been torn off, along with the ones in the glove box. I have no clue what came with my car, and probabl never will. Supposedly 97 is too old for them to look up RPO from the VINs.....

And I did search and didn't find anything
